Why should we give thanks to God? Why should we come to him with our praises,? In the scriptures, there were priests from the tribe of Levi who were chosen to offer up prayers of thanksgiving. We are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). We are all to offer up prayers of thanksgiving. Below are some scriptures rich with the meaning of giving thanks to God.
Below is a prayer of thanksgiving.
O God, of Whose mercies there is no number, and of Whose goodness the treasure is infinite; we render thanks to Your most gracious majesty for the gifts You have bestowed upon us, evermore beseeching Your clemency, that as You grant the petitions of them that ask You, You will never forsake them, but will prepare for the reward to come. Through Christ our Lord. Amen
And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.
