Eugene Peterson’s book, Eat This Book gets its name from Revelation 10:9-10 when John asks for the scroll containing God’s word and is told to eat it! In Peterson’s usual pastoral style of writing, he discusses how to read scripture and digest it into one’s self so that scripture is more than just words; it is food for spiritual nourishment. This clear and easy to understand presentation of Peterson’s thoughts on “lectio divina” was published in 2006, contains nine chapters, and has 180 pages.
