Oh God, Beautiful Father,

We confess that we are a forgetful people. We forget what it means to have you as our Father, our Lover, our Leader. We forget how great and glorious you are, how wise, how strong, how true. We forget how much we need you-individually, as a church. We need you, Abba, when we are wrong, to save us. We need you when we are right, to lead us.

We need you when our souls are racked with pain, to heal us. We need you when everything is going well, to keep us humble, and focused on you.

Father, we forget that without you, we are worse than nothing; with you, we are the light of the world. Renew that light within us now, we pray. Remind us of the power and sufficiency of your grace, your mercy, your love.

Above all else, dear, divine Father, please remind us that you are more than everything, that you are *enough*, and more besides. Remind us, Beloved Lover, that you never forget us, that your plans are good, and your love is true.

May we live ever in delighted awe of you, our God and King, and may you empower us to love the world and each other in your holy Name. Lead us now, we pray,

Amen.
