Abandonment to Divine Providence by Author: de Caussade, Jean-Pierre, S.J. (1675-1751)

abandonment-thumbde Caussade's work is a classic on how we draw closer to God. Below is an excerpt.

“The way of pure faith...enables us to find God at every moment. Can anything be more magnificent, more mysterious, and more blessed...What has to be done to produce such an amazing effect? Isaiah 60: Christ's Birth

bugler2goodWonderful words from the Old Testament prophet--wonderful prophecy about our lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and what will happen at his birth. Also, note the images in the first few verses that seem taken directly from the creation story in Genesis.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
