acloudsmay11When God Predicts the Future

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."-Luke 21:33

When Jesus spoke of the signs of the times, He painted a picture of a world torn by strife and war, a world rocked by great earthquakes and ravaged by pestilences, and famine in the midst of plenty.

Jesus said, "And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken" (Luke 21:25-26 NLT). Jesus also pointed to an increase in earthquakes as one of the signs of the last days (see Luke 21:11). We have always had earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis. But the Bible tells that in the end times, we will see more of them closer together.

According to the U. S. Geological Society, earthquakes are increasing. For the past five decades, the number of earthquakes has grown-not minor ones, but killer quakes. And they just keep coming.

The Bible has a lot to say about the end times, including how power will shift, how there will be a cashless society, how there will be superpower identified as kings from the east that will emerge and actually face off with the Antichrist in the Battle of Armageddon.

Jesus said, "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near" (Luke 21:28).

Understand, when God predicts the future, it is not a big risk. God knows the future more accurately than we can recall the past. He knows the future with complete accuracy. And living in the eternal realm, God can see all of these things at once. That is what happens when God gives us prophecy in Scripture.

Summary sentence: Prophecy is God giving us history in advance.
