So, this dominion thing, how’s it working out for you? It doesn’t take extraordinary auditory powers to hear God’s voice as over 200,000 gallons of cold crude from deep within the earth come gushing out like some derelict anointing.

While human-crafted disasters, such as the British Petroleum oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, are the least of things lost since as humans we chose to go it alone in the garden, these catastrophes do offer us a reminder of who we are apart from Him. Each and every one of us is prone to sociopathic destructive behavior. Apart from God there is nothing except deluded denial. Only a life connected with God’s Spirit, daily filling the soul’s compartments with the love, grace and knowledge of the Almighty, has the opportunity to make fewer death-giving choices. It is not that as servants of Christ we are free from making decisions that will wreck havoc on those around us, but rather that we are best able to glorify God and care for his creation, human and otherwise, when we submit our thoughts and will to Him alone.
