alex kirk and familyHow do we deal with each other's differences, especially when the other person is a different race or ethnicity?

Alex Kirk provides an excellent starting point in examining this issue in a discussion with the Reverend Paul McAllister. Below are some of the questions the two talked about in the discussion.

Questions: 1. What is unity...and what is it not?

2. Why is it so important to God?

3. Why is it so hard to achieve in general (i.e. even in a mostly white or black church why do we still have struggles with unity!)?

4. Why is it particularly hard across racial and socio-economic lines?

5. What are some practical steps we can take to start the journey towards unity as individuals?

6. Grateful that we have seen God grow us into a more diverse community even just over this past year but still have a long way to go. What are some practical steps you think we could take as a church that is still mostly white that wants to be an agent of unity in our community?
