Security (defined) the resource(s) that you look to in order to answer the question who or what will take care of, restore, comfort, or protect me physically, emotionally, and/or spiritually

Psalm 20:7 & our application Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. invitation: abiding trust in God over & above what we can see & typically look to for security.

The last word on security hungers

•no promises for perfect earthly security –not until "new heaven and new earth" •the Biblical story: –Jesus the Son leaves perfect security

–experiences everything we want to be secured from: poverty, abandonment, suffering, death

–in order to bring us back with him –to share in his perfect security with the Father.
