Following Jesus--an interview with Carl Medearis

carl-medearisWhat is the difference between  calling  yourself a Christian and following Jesus? Carl Medearis found himself asking that question when he began as a Christian  missionary in Lebanon. Below is a link to an interview with Carl where he discusses the revolutionary act of following Jesus rather than trying to lead the way. Below is a brief biography of Carl from his website, followed by the interview.

Carl Medearis is an international expert in the field of Arab-American and Muslim-Christian relations.

He acts as a catalyst for a number of current movements in the Middle East to promote peace-making, as well as cultural, political and religious dialog leading toward reconciliation. He is the author of the acclaimed book on these issues, Muslims, Christians and Jesus.

How to Change by Tim Keller

This is another challenging sermon by Tim Keller/Church of the Redeemer. What does it look like for our lives to produce fruit from the master gardener, the Holy Spirit?

Missions by Tim Keller

kellNow I'm returning to you. I'm saying these things in the world's hearing So my people can experience My joy completed in them.I gave them your word; The godless world hated them because of it, Because they didn't join the world's ways, Just as I didn't join the world's ways. I'm not asking that you take them out of the world But that you guard them from the Evil One.They are no more defined by the world Than I am defined by the world.Make them holy - consecrated - with the truth; Your word is consecrating truth. In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world. I'm consecrating myself for their sakes So they'll be truth-consecrated in their mission. John 17
