The measure with which God gives the gift of visible community is varied. Christians who live dispersed from one another are comforted by a brief visit of another Christian, a prayer together, and another Christian's blessing. Indeed, they are strengthened by letters written by the hand of other Christians.





Hear God's Word for you in 2 Corinthians 11:2-3. "I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ."
The journalist Ambrose Bierce once defined praying as asking "that the laws of the universe be annulled in behalf of a single petitioner confessedly unworthy".[1]
