Academy Award nominated film from 1973 about the spiritual awakening of St. Francis of Assisi. The style of the film is colored by the flower power culture of its day but the words of Jesus that Francis quotes throughout are appropriate for any culture or time, even our cynical consumer-based society which claims that it is naive to take Christ's words at face value when He said "you cannot serve both God and money!"
