Motivated Spirituality

waterreflection1The well of love God has for us is deeper than our imaginations can grasp--

it can never run dry, or even be down to a few drops of comfort. It is essential to who God is--and coming to grips with His love for us, and rejoicing in that love, is the key to a life in Christ that sustains us and enriches the lives of those around us. I encourage you to meditate on these scriptures--make them a part of your unconscious thoughts, embed them into your mental framework, so the truth, power and glory of them can quench your thirst throughout the day, and provide life-giving water for those you come into contact. Rejoice in the living water!

  1. Psalm 139 13-16 For you created my inmost being;  you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;  all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
  2. Ephesians 2:4-8 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
  3. Matthew 6:25-29 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 
  4. Romans 5:6-8 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  5. 1 Samuel 16:77 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
  6. Titus 3:4-7 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 
  7. Luke 12:6-7 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
  8. 2 Corinthians 12:9 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 
  9. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 
  10. Romans 8:28 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose.
  11. Hebrews 4:16 6 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
  12. Ephesians 3:20 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 
  13. Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.
  14. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you,  the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you;  in his love he will no longer rebuke you,   but will rejoice over you with singing.”
  15. 2 Peter 1:3 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 
  16. Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;  male and female he created them.
  17. 1 John 1:9 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 
  18. Romans 8:32 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
  19. Ephesians 2:10 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
  20. 2 Corinthians 5:17  17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 
  21. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
  22. Psalm 8:3-5 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars,     which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,  human beings that you care for them?[c] 5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e]     and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.
  23. John 1:12 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
  24. Isaiah 49:15-16 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast  and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget,   I will not forget you! 16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;  your walls are ever before me.
  25. Romans 8:35 5 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
  26. Song of Solomon 2:4 Let him lead me to the banquet hall,  and let his banner over me be love.
  27. Psalm 62:5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
  28. John 15:15 5 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
