A Wall of Fire Around Us: George Muller on 2 Corinthians 5:7

pathway1 'We walk by faith, not by sight'

As long as the child of God is in the world, he has not in actual possession what he will have when with the Lord, and especially, what he will have after the return of the Lord Jesus; he is not yet what he then will be; he does not see what he then will see. But while we are yet in weakness, whilst in the body, in comparative ignorance, and have still to contend against mighty enemies, God has been pleased to give to us a revelation of
Himself in the Holy Scriptures, to be our rule of action, to comfort and encourage us, to make Himself known to us, to make the Lord Jesus known to us, to tell us of the blessedness of the world to come, to show us the way to the Father's house, and to reveal to us the vanity of all that this present world can give. Colossians 3: The Message

lonewinterwalker1So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. 2 Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ - that's where the action is. See things from his perspective. 3 Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life - even though invisible to spectators - is with Christ in God. He is your life.

Remembering Chip Stam

waterreflection1(The following is from Justin Taylor's blog; he honors Chip Stam.) Last night Mike Cosper tweeted, "Chip taught me nearly everything I know about worship."

He was referring to Carl ("Chip") Stam, who saw Jesus face to face for the first time last night (May 1, 2011).

Stam had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the Spring of 2007.

waterreflection1Put On the New Self

1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you:sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
