It portrays the real-life story of Lopez (Robert Downey, Jr.) and a homeless schizophrenic, Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx). A Juilliard dropout, Ayers has landed on the streets, his belongings reduced to a shopping cart of trash.
